MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS & EXCISE TAX
Excise Tax is paid in the Town in which you live at time of registration, for all Motor Vehicles. Excise Tax is based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), regardless of the age of the vehicle.
Requirements for NEW Motor Vehicle Registrations (Dealership Purchase): Application for Title Form (blue), Dealer Certificate Form (green), Previous Registration of vehicle traded or sold (if transferring), Proof of Insurance, and Current Mileage.
Requirements for NEW Motor Vehicle Registrations (Private Sale): Previous Owners Title (two signatures required for joint owners), a Bill of Sale (including date of purchase, VIN #, Make, Model, Signatures), Previous Registration of vehicle traded or sold (if transferring), Proof of Insurance, and Current Mileage.
Requirements for RENEWAL Vehicle Registrations: Prior Registration if previously registered in another town, Proof of Insurance, and Current Mileage.
Registrants with an SR22 , you must pay excise tax to the Town first, then complete the registration at a Motor Vehicle Branch Office. If you have an SR22, you are required to notify the clerk prior to registering.

Utility style Trailers can be registered at the Town Office for either one or two years, fees are determined by the weight of the trailer.
If registering a Utility Trailer for 2000 pounds and under, you are allowed 2000 lbs. for the weight of the trailer and whatever you are hauling.
If registering a Utility trailer for over 2000 pounds, make sure the hauling unit (truck) is registered to cover the weight of the truck, the trailer, and whatever is being hauled.
Note: Any automobile with a registered weight greater than 6000 pounds, is required to have a commercial plate. Commercial plates are available at the Town Office.
Excise Tax is collected on all Camper Trailers, Travel Trailers & Motor Homes. State fees are determined by weight.
The following information is required when registering Utility Trailers, Camper Trailers and Motor Homes for the first time. If purchased at a dealership, the Dealer Certificate (green) Form is needed, as well as the (blue) Title Application Form for Motor Homes. For all private sales, please have the following information: Make, Model, Year, Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), weight and Previous Owner's Title for Motor Homes. All trailers weighing over 3000 pounds are required to have a Maine State Title as well.

INLAND FISHERIES & WILDLIFE ATV, BOAT, & SNOWMOBILE REGISTRATIONS
ATV's: Stickers for all ATV registrations may be purchased at the Town Office. State and Town fees of $35.00 for new registrations and $34.00 for renewals will be charged. All ATV registrations expire June 30 th .
Boats: Stickers for all Boat registrations may be purchased at the Town Office. Excise tax is calculated based on the boat's age, length, and engine horsepower and State fees are based on engine horsepower. A Town fee of $2.00 will be collected on all new registrations, $1.00 for renewals. All boat registrations expire December 31 st .
All Boats registered for fresh water use, are now required to display a MILFOIL sticker alongside the registration sticker. The cost of purchasing a Milfoil Sticker is $10.00. Information regarding the Milfoil plant and the protection of Maine waters may be obtained at the Town Office or contact Inland Fisheries & Wildlife.
Snowmobiles: Stickers for Snowmobile registrations (Resident Only Renewal & Temporary) may be purchased at the Town Office. State and Town fees of $35.00 for new registrations and $34.00 for renewals will be charged. All Snowmobile registrations expire June 30 th . A list of all participating merchants selling Non-resident Snowmobile Registrations may be found on the web under Inland Fisheries and Wildlife at www.maine.gov
Requirements for NEW ATV, Boat and Snowmobile registrations: Dealer certificate showing sales tax paid (green form) for dealership purchases, or a bill of sale for private purchases. A "bill of sale" should include the make, model and year of the machine as well as the vehicle identification number (VIN #), date of purchase, and horsepower for boats. A Maine Registration Number is required on Snowmobiles previously registered in Maine . 5% sales tax will be collected on the purchase price on all private sales.
Requirements for RENEWAL ATV, Boat and Snowmobile registrations: A prior registration is necessary if previously registered in another town.

HUNTING & FISHING LICENSES
Must be a Maine Resident for at least 3 months prior to purchasing a Hunting License. Proof of Residency is required at time of purchase. Residency requirements are listed in the State of Maine Hunting Laws & Rules pamphlet, available at the Town Office.
Anyone purchasing a Maine Hunting License is required to show proof of a previous hunting license or proof of Hunter Safety Course Participation.
Junior Hunting Licenses are available for Children between the age of 10 and 15 years old. Proof of having participated in a Hunter Safety Course is required prior to the first-time purchase of an adult license.
On-line Hunting and Fishing Licenses may be purchased at the Town Office. Licenses may also be purchased on-line by connecting to the State's web page at www.maine.gov.
